4 Stars Best Buy Very Good, avoid GSquad

Stick to Best Buy and the staff on the floor, and you'll end up getting exactly what you need. Avoid Geek Squad unless you have money to burn. These days, everyone knows some kid who can build, fix, upgrade PCs, remove viruses, etc., and probably for a lot less than Geek Squad. Or support some independant PC repair shops in Yellow Pages or find someone reputable on Craigs List. Geek Squad is a money making scam.

3 Stars Great, except Geek Squad

Best Buy is great, but stay away from Geek Squad -- I can't believe their rates and don't think they're all that knowledgeable. They typically 'suggest' such and such an upgrade, part replacment, etc., to 'see' if it will work. Or, they see you some unnecessarilly large (HDD, etc.) component that you really don't need at all.

4 Stars Great unless store is busy

I frequent Best Buy at the Ingolside Mall in Holyoke MA -- I don't see many bargains, and I don't really shop at Best Buy for price. What's good about this store is how helpful the staff are. Unless the store is swarming with shoppers (i.e., Christmas, Mothers/Father's Day, etc.), someone will offer to help you find what you're looking for. The staff is very knowledgeable about technology, and can help you buy only what you need, especially when talking about components, compatibility, upgrades, etc.

5 Stars Awasome Best Buy Store!!

The best Buy store located in Portland Oregon at Cascade Station just down the road from the Portland Airport has to be one of the cleanest and friendliest stores I have been in. From the minuet you walk in the door until you make your purchase you are surrounded buy sales men and woman willing to help, they do not pressure you while you shop. I would recommend this store to anyone in a heart beat.

The store is always clean, prices are not that bad. If the store is out of the item you are looking for you a store employee will try to locate it for you.

5 Stars Best Buy's guarantee

I went to Best Buy and purchased a 46' Insignia I researched on the internet. It included double rewards, free delivery, 2 year warranty and 30 day money back guarantee. It was delivered and set up in one week. I was not satisfied with the sound and went back to the store and was astounded to find they lived up to their guarantee without any gimicks or exceptions, They happily exchanged the Insignia for a 46" Samsung with the same guarantee & and same dollars. Also a Geek Squad serviced my old TV with eceptional techinical knowledge and ability. This store can not be beat!

3 Stars Good overall electronics store

I have shopped at this store several times. The service is a bit hit and miss. Definitely is the place to look for hard to find electronics or if other places are sold out. I would suggest checking their online site first. Have not had bad experiences so far.

4 Stars ipad - Go for it

If you’re mainly a Web surfer, note-taker, social-networker and emailer, and a consumer of photos, videos, books, periodicals and music—this could be for you. If you need to create or edit giant spreadsheets or long documents, or you have elaborate systems for organizing email, or need to perform video chats, the iPad isn’t going to cut it as your go-to device.

The iPad is thinner and lighter than any netbook or laptop. It weighs just 1.5 pounds, and its aluminum and glass body is a mere half-inch thick. It boasts a big, bright color 9.7-inch screen that occupies most of the front. As on all Apple portable devices, the battery is sealed in and non replaceable. It has a decent speaker, and even a tiny microphone.

Memory, also sealed in and nonexpandable, ranges from 16 gigabytes to 64 gigabytes. And can be ordered one with just a Wi-Fi wireless connection to the Internet, or Wi-Fi plus an AT&T (T) 3G cellular connection.

Prices start at $499 and go to $829, with the costlier models having more memory and/or 3G. The cellular models don’t require a contract or termination fee. You can pay AT&T either $15 a month for 250 megabytes of data use, or $30 a month for unlimited data—a significant reduction from typical prices for laptop cellular connectivity.

I was impressed with the iPad’s battery life, which I found to be even longer than Apple’s ten-hour claim, and far longer than on my laptops or smart phones. I played movies, TV shows and other videos back-to-back until the iPad died. This stressed the device’s most power-hogging feature, its screen. The iPad lasted 11 hours and 28 minutes, about 15% more than Apple claimed. I was able to watch four feature-length movies, four TV episodes and a video of a 90-minute corporate presentation.

5 Stars Manalapan BestBuy

Just wanted to say how helpful the staff was at this location. They always say Hi as I walk in and know the product. Our law firm buys from this location often and it's just easy.

It's nice to know that I can still shop in a store and not always online!

2 Stars Bestbuy always a lastbuy!

"Best prices always at Fry's" is indeed correct. I am in the market for a new Linksys router and have checked serveal retail giants such as Fry's, Office Depot, Office Max, Staples, and Bestbuy. And clearly Bestbuy will not be my "bestbuy" for a Linksys WRT 400N advertised at $149.99, whereas Fry's offer the same product for only $129.99. You would think with a store name and reputation like Bestbuy you actually get a deal and not have to shop around, I guess that proves me wrong. Even Office Depot's price is slightly lower than Bestbuy. You be the judge, would Bestbuy be my "bestbuy" or lastbuy?

3 Stars Great Store if you know what you want

Ive been purchasing merchandise from Best Buy for about ten years now and have been satisfied the majority of the time. they have competitive pricing and many options in all departments. I personally shop for video games and electronics when i go to my local store. Despite the great prices and convince of in-store pick up there are a few huge flaws with the store. I go to a Best Buy in Union New Jersey and the staff there is terrible. I have spoken with many of their employees and they could honestly care less about the customers. i have asked employees for prices on objects without price tags and they told me i don't know or check the label. How can i do that when there is no label? I have also asked employees if a certain item is in stock and I have been told yes, i walked to find the product and it wasn't there, then i asked another employee if it was in the stock room and i was told no. finally i asked another employee and 30 seconds later he had grabbed the product ( mario kart for wii) from the stock room. after that trip i have never asked for help again. the employees are lazy at best and not very friendly. the store is also a mess every time i go regardless if it is at opening the middle of the day or closing. Inventory is always low and products are rarely where they are supposed to be. employees are also notorious for standing around and talking in inappropriate language about their personal lives. i understand that employees may be friends but their is a level of professionalism that i expect to see in a store that does so much business.

after these negative experiences i have tried several other stores in New Jersey and have found that they all had these similar problems with employees and customer service. that's why i suggest doing all your research before going into the store because they employees are useless and only good enough to retrieve items. so if you shop there i urge using in-store pick up because the prices are lower and it removes that aspect of frustration.

3 Stars Good prices on computers...not so good on other electonics.

Best Buy is a decent store. For the most part, the employees know what they are talking about and can be helpful in comparing items. I have never used the Geek Squad, so I don't know its value but when I've asked employees questions, most seemed knowledgeable or able to guide me to one who was.

When it comes to computers or laptops, Best Buy is very competitively priced. In most cases they are able to beat other stores and online merchants. I have done extensive research online and found Best Buy's laptop deals to be amoung the best on the internet. This is not the case however, with other electonics such as T.V.s and cameras. I have purchased a SLR in the recent past and after research I found Best Buy to be quite a bit more expensive. For cameras and T.V.s you are better off looking at other online merchants. They have the same products, only cheaper and of course you must wait for them to be shipped (most have free shipping). Overall Best Buy is a good store and being able to have your purchase right away is a plus as is the ability to see your item in person before buying. Just make sure to do your research before buying.

5 Stars Customer Service in 56201

Today I stopped in Best Buy of Willmar, MN, to finalize some of my research on blu ray disc players. Though I have looked around online and also spoke to some coworkers, I found the salesperson to be extremely helpful, informative, and also non pressuring. Willmar, MN, has a very welcoming, clean, organized, and professional store!

4 Stars Floor Items

I went into Best Buy looking for a flat screen tv. They had a returned 50" Insignia floor model that had just been marked down from $999 to $699! This was originally a $1,500 TV. They have great deals on returns and floor models so if you are looking for a deal, check for floor models every fed days.

5 Stars Overall Good Store

Every time I've made a purchase at Best Buy it's been a good experience. They sell reputable products, customer service is good.

4 Stars Long time customer

My local Best Buy store has been slipping when it comes to attending customers, especially when I am pacing in a department looking for someone to help me.I am loyal to Best Buy because I am a platinum reward member and get triple points on all my purchases. I like making small purchases online, but I always go to the store to buy and negotiate on open items. I have saved thousands of dollars on quality items by only buying open items in-store. Most of the time I use my reward dollars to cover shipping cost. But, this web site is good for the times I don't.

5 Stars LCD Purchase

I give 5 starts to Best Buy. I had bought a refurbished LCD from Best Buy that had a problem right of the box. Best Buy did not hesitate and replaced it with a newer one for the same price. I always buy at Best Buy.
