Our family or four - two children aged 11 & 13 and two adults spent a week in January 2011 at the Riu Yucatan in Playa Del Carmen Mexico.
As soon as we arrived at the resort we were impressed, The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Arrival drinks were given to us along with a rose for the ladies.
Our room was not ready so they suggested we go to the restaurant for lunch. The food and service were wonderful. There were plenty of choices and all of the food was delicious.
We found the specialty restaurants to be a little lacking.
Our room was in building 8 on the top floor. The room was clean and very spacious. We would request this building again.
The beach is the best we have seen. We have been to Barbados, Jamaica, St Lucia, Florida and Dominican.
The bartenders were very friendly and super fast.
We enjoyed every aspect of this resort and are planning on returning in the Fall.
